Dear Mr. Cheng,
I am pleased to inform you that you have been nominated to serve as a delegate in the Asia Society's upcoming Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit, to be held on November 17-19, 2006 at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, South Korea.
The Summit will bring together the most dynamic next generation leaders from Asia & America to develop imaginative ways to address the most critical issues facing the Asia-Pacific community today. The conference will explore the greatest challenges facing the Asia-Pacific community today, develop common approaches to addressing these shared challenges, and cultivate the long-term relationships necessary for developing these responses. Following the meeting, delegates will continue to be engaged through a dedicated web space and invitations to future summits. Participants will attend a variety of keynote speeches (Former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung and other leading figures), panel discussions, and breakout sessions, in an effort to develop new ideas for building a stronger Asia-Pacific community.
This year's Summit will address critical issues involved in the building healthy, inclusive, safe, and vibrant societies within a framework of values-based leadership. Cross-sectoral and cross-national engagement is the hallmark of the Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit, and participants will include leading figures from across the fields of business, politics, civil-society, media, arts & culture and academia. This two-day forum will bring together 200 emerging leaders from multiple sectors from across the Asia Pacific region and the United States, all under the age of 40.
The selection process for this exclusive, invitation-only conference has three steps. You have already passed the first step by being nominated based on your record of excellence. The next step is for all nominees to fill out the attached form indicating your interest, availability, and English proficiency, as well as provide a paragraph length bio, date of birth, contact information, and a brief 100 word description about your interest to participate in the Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit. An Asia 21 selection committee will then select participants in accordance with various criteria, including the candidate's record and willingness to devote the energy and expertise to help tackle the most critical issues facing the Asia-Pacific community today.
The Asia Society will provide accommodation and local hospitality during the Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit. Although we ask participants to cover their own travel costs to and from the Conference, a limited number of travel grants are available for those in need of assistance.
As you may know, Asia Society is a leading international organization dedicated to strengthening relationships and deepening understanding among the peoples of Asia and the United States. Founded in 1956 by John D. Rockefeller 3rd, the Society reaches audiences around the world through its headquarters in New York and regional centers in Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, DC, Hong Kong, Manila, Melbourne, Mumbai and Shanghai. A nonprofit, nonpartisan, educational organization, the Society provides a forum for building awareness of the more than thirty countries broadly defined as the Asia-Pacific region - the area from Japan to Iran and from Central Asia to New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
We hope that you will be interested to be considered as a delegate to the Summit. We ask that you please contact Hee-Chung Kim on e-mail at hkim@asiasoc.org or by fax at (212) 327-2280 with any questions you may have and that you please send her your completed nomination acceptance form by no later than July 31, 2006.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
- 來回機票和交通要自費;
Dear Mr. Cheng:
The Asia Society recently sent an e-mail letter from Dr. Jamie F, Metzl, Executive Vice President of the Asia Society, informing you that you have been nominated to participate in the Asia 21 Young Leader Summit to be held November 17-19, 2006, in Seoul, South Korea. The Summit will bring together Asia and America's most dynamic next generation leaders to develop imaginative ways to address the most critical issues facing the Asia-Pacific community today.
Since we have not received word from you as yet, we are following up to request your reply. Please let us know if you would like us to resend your invitation or can answer any other questions you may have. The Candidate Form is attached for your convenience.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.

to iang:

to raenoll:
to 豬小草:
