As we prepare for the International AIDS Conference in Mexico City, we would like to inform you of opportunities for collaboration with CHAMP on media strategies.
1) We are still accepting applications for correspondents for AIDS2008.com, the independent community media voice of the IAC. This dynamic site will feature live blogging from the conference; the opportunity to post releases, reports and analysis; audio and video postings; and comments on postings.
Please see AIDS2008.com to apply to be a correspondent -- it is a very straightforward process but we are asking people to pre-register so we can get an idea of what you will be blogging about, provide you with materials to get the word out about AIDS2008.com to your networks, and to ensure we have a short bio of you on the site as well as contact information for the mainstream press who may wish to talk further with you if you are interested.
2) We are also providing a virtual press room at AIDS2008.com -- if you are interested in being listed as a press contact, please contact me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE with the following information:
a. Name and Organization
b. Contact information while in Mexico City
c. Areas of expertise (I am looking for brief words and phrases, such as: "drug pricing, health systems, and research ethics" rather than sentences or paragraphs3) If you have press releases, background documents or other materials you would like to have posted on AIDS2008.com, please send them to me as soon as they are ready -- I will be posting them throughout the conference but also can put things up ahead of time.
4) Early next week, we will be distributing promotional materials for AIDS2008.com. We hope you will distribute them through your organziations, networks, and contact lists.
